Responsibilities

  • Developing and managing the town's annual budget, forecasting future revenue and expenses, and monitoring spending against the budget.
  • Maintaining accurate financial records, processing Accounts Payable and Payroll transactions, reconciling bank statements, generating regular financial reports for the town council and other stakeholders, as well as yearly reports for NYS Comptroller's Office.
  • Overseeing the collection of town taxes, fees, and other revenue sources, ensuring timely payments and addressing any discrepancies.
  • Managing the town's debt obligations by monitoring interest payments and ensuring compliance with debt covenants.
  • Assisting in the planning and funding of major capital projects, such as infrastructure improvements.
  • Performing financial analysis to identify trends, assess the town's financial position, and provide recommendations for strategic decision-making.
  • Ensuring the town adheres to all relevant financial regulations and accounting standards.
  • Managing the town's investment portfolio to maximize returns while minimizing risk.
